Our Group concentrates on infrastructure and groundworks, acquiring land, building sought after new developments, working in partnership with local authorities for affordable homes provision as well as delivering homes for the private rental sector (PRS).
We have very experienced people with the drive and ambition to deliver our long term goals. Our vision is to leave a legacy that our customers, employees, and local communities are proud of.
We put our customers and clients at the centre of each company, working to understand their needs and aspirations, while developing solutions to meet those needs. To date we have delivered over 2,000 homes through Cameron Homes and Keon Homes and have had an involvement in a further 40,000 through Chasetown Civil Engineering, working with the major UK housebuilders. We are recognised by the House Builders Federation (HBF) as a five star housebuilder, an accolade voted for by our customers.
We have a strong balance sheet and a resilient business. A financially prudent group, we re-invest our profits in growing our Group companies for the future with a focus on land and realising the potential of our people, our opportunities, and projects. We successfully develop long term partnerships with landowners, other house builders, suppliers and in particular, other family businesses.
In 2017, Noel took steps to secure his business interests for the longer term, he wanted the Group to thrive and succeed for the long term. He established a Family trust, and appointed Trustees. Sir John Crabtree came on board in 2017 and became the Chair of the Trust and Group in 2020 when we lost Noel.
Over the last few years, Sir John has been focused on creating the identity of the Tara Group, making sure we retain Noel's entrepreneurial spirit, desire for success and growth, and always looking to support those less fortunate. John is passionate about the three companies that form the Tara Group, and convinced that if we all come together, we can see real benefits. We are stronger together.
John is a former President of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce & Industry and was previously Senior Partner of Wragge and Co LLP. He was appointed Lord-Lieutenant for the West Midlands in 2017, serving until 2024, and chaired the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 Organising Committee.
In 2025, to honour Noel’s legacy, we launched a revised set of values, giving all companies within the Group one set of guiding principles.
